We are licensed and certified by Transport Canada and operate within their strict guidelines. Our Captain is a Master Mariner with life-long career of deep-sea freighter navigation. All our event managers, chefs, serving and bar staff hold the required FoodSafe and Serving It Right certifications. Regarding sustainable practices, PYC respects the environment and the ocean waters we call home. Our chefs adhere to and participate fully in the Oceanwise TM program administered by the Vancouver Aquarium. Three years ago, we switched to compostable straws and let our guests choose if they need to use a straw or not; we have not replaced our supply in 2 years! Composting, both in the commissary and on the yacht, is standard practice to reduce landfill waste. In 2019, we removed an old soda fountain system and switched to canned soft drinks. This reduced waste as the syrup boxes/bladder bags are not as easily recycled as aluminum cans! – and we think your drink tastes better, too!
