Originally named Sunset Bay II, (Sunset Bay Yacht Group) her keel was laid in 1989 in New Westminster, BC. A purpose-designed and built yacht for events and group gatherings, she was originally 70’ long with two interior decks. She plied Vancouver’s harbour waters until 1998 when she was extended by 35’. This added the Sky Deck which is a special gathering space for ceremonies and starlight dancing.
In 2014, the company was sold and in 2015 work began on a new vision for the company and Pacific Yacht Charters was born. We believe that this name reflects the company values, direction, and acknowledges and celebrates our place in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
In 2016, the renamed Pacific Yacht underwent a significant interior refit including new carpet and flooring, new interior paint, all new fine bone china and crystal stemware, new flatware, and table linens. The goal, along with the name and brand change, was to heighten the appeal of the yacht as a private, luxury vessel offering custom and personalized service and event planning.
Unlike many other vessels operating in the Vancouver Harbour, we offer a true charter experience allowing the client to select their route/destination, offer bespoke decor, rentals, set up and menu planning, and take event service to a level that has guests feeling well taken care of and that they have been treated to a unique and memorable experience; this level of service is a core part of what we do.
The mission of PYC is to host outstanding events with personalized planning, and professional service provided by PYC staff, delivering premium experiences to our customers.
Our vision is to become the go-to charter and catering service for discerning clients and those who want to be served by and experience the very best for their event.
